Resources for English Language Development
Welcome to our vibrant community, where diverse languages and cultures create a unique learning environment for your children.
The multilingual department believes that every child’s linguistic and cultural background is an asset that enriches our community. Our mission is to nurture and celebrate these diverse identities while providing a high-quality education that prepares our students for a global future.
District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)
DELAC is a committee required by California law for any school district with 51 or more English learners. The primary role of DELAC is to advise the district's local governing board on programs and services for English learners.
English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC)
ELPAC is a state-mandated test used to assess the English proficiency of students whose primary language is not English. It is used to assess listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English. The ELPAC helps schools identify students who need additional English language support, monitor their progress, and determine when they are proficient enough in English to succeed in an academic environment without additional language assistance.
